A church is not a building but a group of ordinary people who meet together to worship God and to serve him in the world.

We believe

  • God has spoken to us through the Bible
  • Jesus is the Son of God
  • each one of us has broken God's laws (what the Bible calls "sin") - and this deserves punishment
  • Jesus died on the cross, taking the punishment in our place, so that we can receive forgiveness
  • Jesus rose again and promises eternal life to all who trust him

Our Statement of Faith

  • We believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
  • We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God who is both true God and true man. We believe in His all-sufficient sacrifice for sin by His death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven and His coming again in glory.
  • We believe in the Holy Spirit who is one with the Father and the Son in the Godhead. We believe that He lives in every Christian believer and is the source of our spiritual life, obedience to God and Christian service.
  • We believe that through sin, man is under God's judgement and is unable to redeem himself. We believe that a sinner is made right with God through faith in Christ as Saviour, expressed in repentance from sin and commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord.
  • We believe that Christ is the supreme head of His body, the Church, which is called to glorify God in worship and service, to build itself up in love and fellowship, and to preach the Gospel throughout the world. We believe that the Holy Spirit gathers Christians together in a local church and equips them individually and corporately with His gifts to fulfil their calling.
  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that it is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and Christian living.
