Who Cares? Hampshire

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer initiative between Ascension and Pentecost (25 May - 4 June). Who Cares? will be joining this campaign, as we seek to cover the mission in prayer leading up to the launch of the Listening Phase.

Sat 3 June 6 - 7, 7 - 8, 8 - 9 pm London Street United Reformed Church

Sun 4 June 7.00 - 8.30 pm Winchester Cathedral

Go to: www.whocareshampshire.org to book tickets (free)

Phase 1

During June & July 2017, ask people one simple question:

What hurts the most?

Phase 2

Analyse responses and find ways to meet people's needs, bringing God's love and hope.

Baptist Association Golf Tournament

As usual we will be fielding a team of 4 for the annual golf tournament at Wellow Golf Club on Monday 5 June. We need another 2 golfers to make a team of 4. We can make up the numbers with some friends from other churches (as we have done in previous years), but are there any other golfers in our own church who might like to play? See Colin for more details.

Opportunities to Serve

Please pray and consider whether you could help.

Prayer Ministry Training

Monday evenings, 7.30 - 9.30 pm

Starting 5 June, for 4 weeks

Dave Bishop would like to train a group of people for prayer ministry on Sundays. Initial training will be over 4 sessions, after which a team will be formed. Please sign up.

Intercessory Prayers

Sunday morning services - to join rota.

Stewards

More volunteers are needed to join the stewardship team, to ensure visitors feel welcome and are put at ease on arrival. This includes some people to supervise car parking.

Grounds Maintenance

A team of people already take responsibility for the grounds maintenance, but someone is needed to coordinate the work.

Connections

We need a new leader to take over our current leader, who will be stepping down from this role at the end of 2017.

New Housing

Over 2000 homes are being built to the south of Basingstoke (Kennel Farm: 310 houses in progress, Hounsome Fields: 750 houses, building due to start in 2017, Golf Course: 1000 houses, due to start 2020, Bellway: in progress). We will be working with other churches to deliver welcome packs as people move in. See Stephen.

Offering

We will no longer be taking up the offering during the service. Instead, there will be an offering bag available at the back.

Online Giving

We have set up a new online giving facility hosted by MyDonate. Donations can be made by credit or debit card. MyDonate was chosen as they are able to re-claim Gift Aid, and do not charge any commission or fees (beyond the card fees). Any questions, see our Treasurer Malcolm Brunsdon.

Donate to us through MyDonate - the free online donation service (secure external site)

More about how you can give to the church and Gift Aid, see the Giving page.

Toilet Twinning

We learnt about this charity at the All Age Service last April. If you took a collecting box home, now is the time to return it. Please bring all the money collected to the church by the end of February. If you do not have a box and wish to give, please put your gift in a sealed envelope marked Toilet Twinning, or See Jenny.
