Who Cares? Hampshire

We are now in the Listening Phase, and along with many other churches in Basingstoke and North Hampshire, asking one simple question:

What hurts the most?

All completed cards will remain anonymous (you do not give your name).

We are giving cards to all who attend any of the groups meeting in our church. Cards (and envelops for replies) are also available to personally give to those you know.

Wardrobes & Rings

7.30 pm, Friday 29 September

The Sarum Hill Centre, RG21 8SR

Wardrobes & Rings will transport you back to Oxford in 1963, where legendary authors J.R.R. Tolkien and his great friend C.S. Lewis meet for what turns out to be the very last time. With great humour, wit, and fascinating stories, these remarkable lives are explored in this memorable piece of theatre.

August Bank Holiday Walk

2.00 pm, Monday 28 August

Following the successful Easter Monday Walk to Steventon, we are organising another fellowship walk. This is a circular walk about 5 miles on country lanes and footpaths through the Malshanger Estate. Afterwards we will gather for coffee and cake. See Colin.

Meet at the car park opposite Oakley Village Hall.

Opportunities to Serve

Please pray and consider whether you could help.

Intercessory Prayers

Sunday morning services - to join rota.

Stewards

More volunteers are needed to join the stewardship team, to ensure visitors feel welcome and are put at ease on arrival. This includes some people to supervise car parking.

Grounds Maintenance

A team of people already take responsibility for the grounds maintenance, but someone is needed to coordinate the work.

Connections

We need a new leader to take over our current leader, who will be stepping down from this role at the end of 2017.

New Housing

Over 2000 homes are being built to the south of Basingstoke (Kennel Farm: 310 houses in progress, Hounsome Fields: 750 houses, building due to start in 2017, Golf Course: 1000 houses, due to start 2020, Bellway: in progress). We will be working with other churches to deliver welcome packs as people move in. See Stephen.

Offering

We will no longer be taking up the offering during the service. Instead, there will be an offering bag available at the back.

Small Groups

Meet with others during the week to study God's Word, pray together, and grow friendships in a small group setting. We now have a new group formed from our recent Alpha group, which meets at the church on Tuesday evenings, at 7.30 pm. See Matt.

Monday evenings - Breakthrough
